Little pleasures of life … !!

Every New Day Is A CHANCE To CHANGE Your Life Into A Better Tomorrow .

Grab It When Life Gives You A Second Chance To Change Your Future … Chances Rarely Knock Twice On The Same Window Yet We Must Never Forget To Cherish Every Moment While It Lasts .

We always crib and complain about how life is unfair with us but have we ever thought about those who do not even enjoy the basic minimum amenities to sustain life ?

You have a two bed room comfortable flat but you stress and hanker when you see some random person with a three bed room flat with a huge terrace , yet the man who works 16 hours a day in double shift duties , gets paid meagrely , sustains a family of 6 or 7 and still comes home with a smile on his face .. dreaming only of a small comfortable home of his own someday ,is a happier person. The difference lies in the perception of things and situations and to make the best of what we have in hand .

If we learn to cherish what we already have , the idea of a dissatisfied soul is beyond question . Sometimes we exaggerate our needs and our hunger to achieve more becomes insatiable . We unknowingly turn greedy , prodigious and lose focus of our actual purpose or goal in life .

No doubt we must have a bigger dream but let’s not forget to enjoy the smaller happinesses in life …”the little things that matter ” .

A bubbling hot cup of coffee in your hand, listening to your favourite music band ,while enjoying the silver rain drops of monsoon dripping from the crest of your roof can give you an unparalleled satisfaction only if you allow and can reason the importance of that precious moment .

As we grow older , at times we reminisce past events and tend to regret not cherishing those “little things that matter ” the way we should have.

It reminds me of the lines of my most favourite poem Leisure by William Henry Davies (1871-1940)

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Our fast lives in this increasingly competitive world deprives us often of the simple pleasures of a peaceful life .

Take a long walk in the moonlit streets of your neighbourhood, a moment to admire the lushness of the season’s flowers in your garden , stop by on your way back from work to say hello to an old old friend who is unwell , stare at the vastness of the sky full of twinkling stars … it will surely give you infinite happiness .

A day gone by is a day gone forever .

I believe life is once and since we cannot unlive the passing times , we must dig out the best  of it to built a castle of love, compassion and humility while enjoying each rosy moment like there is no tomorrow , after all – ITS JUST ONE LIFE TO LIVE .
